ANSA is a membership-based 501(c)3 non-profit & the Arkansas chapter of DarkSky International.
✨ Excited to share that our group is making meaningful headway with local communities and neighborhoods - this time with Lakeview West overlooking Lake Maumelle.
🏡 Its a gift to help shape Arkansas' first Responsible Outdoor Lighting residential development. Once people experience the wonder of truly dark skies it becomes clear how unnecessary (and avoidable) light pollution really is.
✨ We hope this very successful effort inspires more dark-sky initiatives across our state.

We have many presentations, activities, and hikes at the Dark-Sky festival focused on nature, especially at night, but not exclusively. This year, one of our speakers will be Keith Newton, a fantastic Nature photographer, among other things, who will share how he captures stunning photos of the small creatures that inhabit the nighttime environment, like these grasshoppers frozen in time.
