ANSA is an Arkansas not for profit Association operated as a 501(c)3 charity. However, ANSA has not applied for a formal determination from the IRS due to the expense involved and the fact that under the new tax code most people will not longer itemize deductions. An itemizing taxpayer can deduct donations made to ANSA but in the event of an audit the taxpayer may be required to provide proof that ANSA qualifies as a charity. ANSA would of course cooperate in that regard.
